"Hyung, you look on the verge of passing out," Junho remarks, not knowing if he should be scared for his brother's well-being, amused by his antics, or exasperated by a decision that, in his mind, is absolutely nonsensical.
"Junho-ah, if Gihun-hyung can bear twins at fifty for almost nine months, I can bear a knife near my balls," Inho proclaims as-matter-of-factually.

“What are you doing?” Gi-hun asked, a little disoriented and a little confused.
Instead of answering her question, In-ho slid a hand across the floor and towards her ankle. She grasped her ankle just above where her shoe ended and crawled a little closer, slowly lifting Gi-hun’s skirt as if giving her time to stop In-ho if she wanted.
"Gi-hun-ssi, may I?"
"Yes."
That was all the permission In-ho needed as she rolled up Gi-hun’s skirt from the front and below her legs, surprising Gi-hun a little as she'd thought she'd take it off like the rest.
“Hold,” In-ho commanded as she held the rolled up skirt just above Gi-hun’s waist and then grasped at Gi-hun’s thigh with both hands as soon as Gi-hun did as was asked.

“Well.” Gihun sighed; his voice was steadier than he thought it ever could. “That’s a shame. We must find another way.” Gihun stepped closer to inspect the reader. The distance between them shrank to a few centimetres. He leaned in and whispered into the man’s ear.
“Why don’t you use your mask to unlock it then, Frontman?”
Seong Gihun had learnt, through harsh lessons, that he could not beat the game with violence or mass persuasion. So, what else was he left with but something tender—and far more dangerous—turning towards one man?
Hwang Inho had set out to trample Seong Gihun’s naive faith in humanity. He was enjoying watching the man’s crumbling confidence like a fine glass of whiskey. That is, until those naive eyes looked at him one too many times and he realised the foundation of his own belief had been eroding.

Summary
Gi-hun Seong was a bad detective and an idiot.
Such was In-ho's impression of the man who had shown up out of nowhere to ask him for help on a mission that would likely prove fatal to one or two policemen. However, given In-ho's other option was to die of either boredom or misery, the offer was tempting. At least to some degree.
And if he were to be completely honest, what did he have left to lose?A story exploring what would have happened if Gi-hun and In-ho had joined forces as detectives in bringing the games that had ruined their lives to a definite end. Perhaps it was dangerous. Downright stupid even to challenge an organization that expansive and ruthless as spies living out the pretenses of Frontman and masked officer. But once the idea was there, it wouldn't leave them alone. Whispering promises of something great. Something worth staying alive for.

Gihun runs once again, only starting a game of cat and mouse. A game that the Frontman himself is more than ready for.

"Two daughters, twins. Seoyeon and Seoyee. They're seven months old," he takes a deep breath, "I know. I didn't think it would happen either. I was fairly certain about that, actually. After you... I was completely certain that there wouldn't be anyone else. That I didn't deserve it, that I didn't want it, and that the world had already taken everything I was going to be given."
Autumn wind moves through the cemetery, rustling leaves that have begun to turn.
