Summary
Thomas puts aside his book then, sticking a leather bookmark between the pages. He reaches out, pulling James close, kissing him slowly and languidly until he relaxes underneath his touch. James can sense the tension draining out of his shoulders from the feeling of Thomas’ lips on his. Thomas smiles, running his fingers down the side of James’ throat, until they come to rest over his heart.
“This is part of why I fell in love with you,” he says. “Your heart has always been far too big to be occupied by just one person alone.”
*It has been five years since the events on Skeleton Island. James and Thomas are living a quiet life in a little cottage near Savannah, finally having begun to heal and reveling in the fact that they are together again. That is, until they hear the news that four pirates were captured nearby, and said pirates come knocking at their door late at night. James is at least as surprised to see them as they are to see him.

Flint breaks them out of the plantation within a month. He and Thomas settle in Salem, Massachusetts, and soon they find their small house filled by four cats, Silver, four kittens, and Madi. Together, they rebuild their lives out of the ruins that they had been left in. The New World is full of possibilities.

Summary
A year after Silver puts Flint in the ground, effectively ending their war, stories emerge of a violent curse on Skeleton Island that keeps adventurers and treasure-seekers away. Silver dismisses the stories as fanciful myth, but when Thomas and Madi abruptly disappear from their respective homes, he has to contend with the possibility that his memory might not be the entire truth.
Or: John Silver returns to Skeleton Island to find the people he cares about rebuilding the very thing he sacrificed everything to tear down.

You know what I don't believe I've seen in this fandom yet? Drunk sex. Specifically: the kind of fumbling, messy, borderline-unsexy sex where both of them should absolutely have sobered up but they're too shitfaced to even remember they can (so like, somewhere between "brain city, whales" and "semi-conscious on the bathroom floor" levels of intoxication).
Not asking for Bad Sex fic per se, but something a little less ... intensely emotional than is typical for this ship. It's just two drunk, horny idiots fooling around and trying to remember how their hands and mouths work, not to mention their efforts.
