Summary
In Modern Westeros, Dunk finds himself alone in his early twenties with little to his name. The best he could do for himself is to attempt to get into a one of the many universities the kingdoms had to offer by the only way he knows how: sports. At the very least he'd have housing and free food, which was more than what he ever had growing up, while he figured out what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He expected it to be easy and for his life to go by without much hardship or excitement.
You didn't run away from home but you didn't tell your father, Maekar, you were going to a small university away from King's Landing. Decisions had always been made for you so when you saw the opportunity to make your own choices you took it instantly. Far away from your overbearing father and siblings, you had freedom to do as you pleased for the first time in your life.
When you and Dunk meet life seems to get more interesting.

Baelor and Maekar weren't particularly happy that their parents insisted that it was time for them to remarry. Had their parents allowed it Baelor and Maekar would have married each other without hesitation. But King Daeron would hear none of it. Not just because they were brothers but because they were both alphas. Queen Myriah thought it was a wonderful idea to hold a Mating Run so that not only her sons had a chance to find a mate but also the other noble houses. Of course, none of the Houses could turn down a chance at the throne. Baelor and Maekar agreed that they would not be picking any of the suitors that is until a giant wolf walks into their dining hall.
