“I’m just warning you, so you don’t get any bright ideas about telling someone behind my back.” Gem considers trying to back him into a corner, but he has the clear size advantage. “It wouldn’t even be hard. You disappear all the time, don’t you? Leave the server for a few weeks, or months, without warning. They’d miss you, but I’d have all the time in the world to cover my tracks before they’d suspect anything.”

They start spending more and more time together, but Pearl sticks to the water while Gem stays on land. That all changes when a massive storm hits the coast, and Gem has to decide if she's willing to place her life in Pearl's hands.

Bdubs has a problem, and that problem is that he won't say his safeword no matter what, even when he really ought to. This is a problem for Etho, who has a habit of pushing boundaries without evening meaning to. Out of fear of hurting his lover, Etho can only think of one logical solution:
Push Bdubs to his absolute limits until he has no CHOICE but to use his word. It's a foolproof plan.

The small flicker of light to her right is what leads Gem's eyes away from her monitor.
She's got her elbow up on her desk, a fist propping up her chin, as the discord notification distracts her from her building. She runs her tongue lazily across her lips and tucks away a small note in her mind to reapply her chapstick soon.
Gem hums, tapping her forefinger against the thin plastic of her mouse, makes up her mind, and picks up her phone. Her brows shoot up beneath her bangs in surprise as she finds herself on the recieving end of an Etho dm.

It’s a normal Tuesday afternoon when Bdubs’ entire worldview gets flipped on its head, and it’s entirely Etho’s fault.
In typical Etho fashion, he had done something insane entirely nonchalantly, and acted confused whenever it was acknowledged that it’s a big deal.
In non-typical Etho fashion, he just sent Bdubs his fucking address.And okay, if Etho does something insane, Bdubs has to match it. That’s their entire dynamic. That’s been their entire dynamic for at least a decade, if not more.
Which is the only possible justification Bdubs can give for why his first response to the DM with Etho’s address, typed out neatly with proper capitalization and line breaks and everything, is to open Google Maps and start packing a bag. -
