Summary
From day one, the citizens of Mondstadt made it clear that Sergei would not be welcome the same as other children. It made sense, no one was a fan of the Shneznyan people after the Fatui tried to take over. Now, whether by eating other people's scraps or taking the most tedious of commissions, he managed to keep going no matter how badly others wanted him to fail.
In which Sergei is homeless and Diluc is a darling who makes everything better

Summary
The Balladeer ran colder than most. It wasn’t a choice; there was only so warm one’s skin could be without the presence of a heart pumping underneath. But despite the situation at hand, Scaramouche often found himself craving the heat from an exterior force.
Aka scara hooks up with fatui agent reader and ends up learning some stuff about himself

Bookmarker's Notes
I cannot express how much I adore this fanfic. I already love explorations of Scaramouche's gender, but rarely do I see anyone brave enough to go the route of making him a complete puppet, let alone also make it smutty. It's so emotionally charged at points and my only complaint is that I wish there was more.

Bookmarker's Notes
I revisited this story 5 years. First read it in 2021 when I was still uncertain about my gender identity and had no idea of the rollercoaster I was about to be sent on in the years to come. Unfortunately, I resonate with this story more than I did back when I first read it. Parts of my family have been cut out of my life for a lot of reasons, but part of it was because they couldn't come to terms with my identity. They couldn't understand, that I hadn't changed but rather become the person I always was inside. Sasuka's relationship with his parents hits hard because it feels incredibly realistic, and that's likely partially due to the author experiencing some of these feelings and situations in their personal life. But it's also due to how well this author writes, and I cannot believe they somehow wrote a 50K story that I couldn't put down from start to finish.
This is the kind of thing fanfiction was made for.

Summary
You ever get that feeling when you wake up in the hospital after being beaten senseless by your piece-of-shit dad because he found out that you dig chicks after reading your diary? And then you get put into a foster home with one of the most popular girls at your school, your childhood best friend who tried to commit suicide a year ago, and another girl who you end up getting the hots for?
No? Just me?
Ugh, well, whatever. It's not like you have to read this or anything.

Bookmarker's Notes
This story is one of my most favourite fanfics of all time, at points it feels like it is an actual novel and not stemming from a pre-existing source material.
The way the author expanded on the characters from ddlc was so satisfying, in a way they felt like completely diffrent characters whilst still being loosely connected to the source material.
But the best part is the story and relationships between characters. Everything feels so organic and very coming of age like, in fact something I would normally dislike (first person perspective) only proves to make this story even more personal intimate. It's something you feel you can relate to, very reminicent of stories such as I Am Not Okay With This and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (two of my favourite stories/tv shows). And the plot, oh my god, it's so fucking good. It kept me so engaged to see what would happen next and there were never any moments where I thought something would be predictable. That level of intruige kept me hooked the entire time on how things would develope onward.
I reccomend this to anyone who can handle the darker themes tagged. 10/10
