Summary
Penelope Rawlings Drummont and Colin McGellish live in the 16th century. She is married to a ruler named Sir Roger who is in actuality in love with his Right Hand, Percival. She is basically kept as a prisoner in the manor and sees a chance of escape in Colin McGellish who comes to the manor during the Ending Season Celebration. She leaves with him to go find her father in France; many adventures and tentative love ensues as they roam the English countrysides and Scotland Highland and moors.
