Summary
They lost. Despite everything that happened, and everything they sacrificed. RWBY JN_R STRK Oscar Ozpin everyone. Lost. Dead. But there remains a glimmer of hope. In the desolate wasteland, humanity has somehow managed to survive and keep a single relic at a time out of Salem's grasp for over a century. But resources are few, their numbers dwindling. Time is not in their favor. But maybe it could be. In a last ditch effort, they use everything they have left to build a time machine in the ruins of Atlas. But Salem finds them. Left with no means of escape or survival, they hastily send a team of their best fighters to change the past. The time travel is successful, but they miss the target time. Armed with a surprisingly detailed knowledge of the future, he embarks on a journey to change the future. But it's not so simple. There's only so many events he can change, a certain number of actions he can take before the Salem suspects something, and changes her plans entirely, rendering his knowledge useless. But can he do it alone? Can he push past his past trauma and recent loss to complete the mission? Is he prepared to do, or not do, whatever it takes to save humanity? Funnily enough, only time will tell...

Summary
I couldn't help but think, since Ava didn't have much control over the halo, it could have been at its rawest state, considering it resurrected her and made her walk. What if in its rawest form the halo could make another? And what if there was another body in that morgue? Well, I guess I should write about that.
Joseph has no idea who, or what, he is. He wakes up in a morgue and figures out what happened in seconds and expertly strips a mercenary of weapons. He doesn't physically react to anything unwillingly. He feels a strange connection to some girl and can't explain it. Then he finds out he has powers. But every time he uses his powers he lights up like a Christmas tree. He feels so powerful, but he knows better than to be irresponsible with it. He sees moving red gases, self-heals, goes through walls, make explosions of energy, form object out of said energy, is crazy smart, talks any language, and fights unstoppably. He's also apparently crazy rich. The only problem is the fact that since he woke up he can't stop feeling pain. Especially when he uses his newfound abilities

A year and a few months after Cortana's demise, John returns to active duty. Even if her absence tore a hole in his very soul, he kept moving non-stop, running away from the memories of her death.
Everything changes when a mysterious human female is captured trying to avoid the UNSC Infinity's security, a woman whose features, voice and wits are the same as the Cortana he once knew in digital form. She returned because her will to protect her Spartan was stronger than anything.
She once was his shield and sword, but now she's fragile and desperate; Cortana isn't the only one who avoided death. Something else is coming after him. John neutralized the Didact and now he faces a greater threat: the sins of his past. His greatest sin was to let Cortana find a way beneath his skin and become his weakness.
John-117 is the target, but he's not the only one in danger.
The universe just became a far more dangerous place to live in.
