Summary
Before all the mess, Morgana Ingellvar was just a mage who loved books and lived her life in the Necropolis. She hadn't signed up to chase gods. Her last two years had been full of adventure, and yet she missed her home in Nevarra. She was homesick. And she missed Manfred. (And Emmrich too.) The two necromancers first met a few years ago at one of Emmrich's lectures, Self-abnegation techniques for sub-astral navigation. Oh, what a conference it was! A professor challenged Emmrich, a higher dead broke in and started arguing with that professor, the wraiths... Sometimes she stayed so they could continue the discussion, and soon these discussions moved to Emmrich's study over a cup of tea. The two became good friends, and Morgana adored Manfred! When she had to leave the Necropolis, neither of them knew when they would meet again, but fate is a mysterious force...

Summary
"Pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones.”— I always liked this quote, but with Cai, I might take this a tad bit too literally.
Malachai the Black was crafted directly from Bhaal’s own flesh rather than born, he was his Father’s masterpiece: a demigod, a high priest, and a Paladin sworn to the service of Murder.
This series follows the non-linear journey of Malachai (known simply as "Cai") as he navigates a life stripped of his memories and his divinity. And how a touchy-sweet amnesiac with a sadistic streak managed to reclaim his old self, finally free from Bhaal’s shadow.
Beside him stands Enver Gortash: Cai’s first and last sin, the very thing that caused his downfall, and then his rising.
The first novel, Red Waltz, serves as the Symphony’s End, or if you will, the zero novel:
The war for Baldur’s Gate is over. The Absolute is a memory. The city has a new pair of masters, and they look remarkably like the Archduke and the Hero who "saved" everyone.
The series will continue with sibling novels that dive into the blood-soaked details of exactly how Cai found his way back to Enver’s side, and how he reclaimed his Temple and himself.

Heavily focused on events pre-main story where Drow-Tav(2nd POV reader/not self-insert) finds herself caught in a deal of double-espionage with the Emperor that leads her down the path of his past. Tav will not just unravel mysteries and secrets that creep through the shadows of Baldur’s Gate, but also unveil The Emperor’s true identity as they revisit treacherous waters of his past once more.
