Summary
The girl’s shoulders hunch again. An expression is battling on her face. Guilt again, and fear, and shame. And then faintly, in the soft turn of her cheek, commiseration. She watches Gustave for a long, sad moment, and then turns to a new page in the notepad. She starts writing something, and then stops, glancing furtively at Gustave before scribbling it out. On a new line she instead writes in big bold letters:
Maelle.
OR
Gustave is the local mechanic of Lumiere, an idyllic coastal village far away from the chaos and conflict of Paris. Struggling with his recent injury and the loss of a good friend, he's not quite prepared when a family moves into the abandoned Manor on the edge of town.
He's definitely not prepared for their children.

Summary

Summary
There were rumors, quickly squashed by the island kingdom, that the Prince of Ithaca had grown wings on his feet when he was a boy. There were rumors that he had wings elsewhere too; on his back and behind his ears. They were squashed even quicker. Anyone who could get a look at the prince could see that his body was not adorned in feathers of any kind.
None of them knew, and Ithaca’s royal family planned to keep it that way. Fearing that this problem of unknown origin (curse or yet another divine being’s fling with a mortal) would be seen as an insult to the gods and bring down their wrath. Odysseus has grown used to having to cut down or hide the extra appendages, but the struggle only grew when he was forced into the Trojan War.
Now, with the war at its end and his fleet ready to return home, he only has one thing on his mind; getting home to his wife and son.
OR
An alternate universe where Hermes's relation to one particular Greek hero becomes a bit more prominent, and he suddenly has a much better reason to help Odysseus on his journey home.

Water dripped rhythmically from the tip of a pointed dripstone into puddles below, the noise delicate yet deafening in the otherwise silent cave system. Normally Bdubs would chatter, normally Etho would listen, but today wasn’t a normal day. He wasn’t sick, he wasn’t short, he was entirely capable and Etho had no right to argue with him on that, even if he was trying to do what was best for them both. It was for that reason Etho was wandering on ahead, and for that reason Bdubs had his hands stuffed deep into his mossy pockets.
He wasn’t short, but he might have been a little bit sick. Maybe his head was a bit sore, maybe his eyes a bit droopy and his nose a bit stuffy, but he was still capable. He didn’t want to just sit around in their base waiting like a sitting duck for the Boogeyman - he wanted to be helpful!
