"Sorry for waking you up," C00lkidd said suddenly. 1x scoffed, dismissing his concern.
"Nah, kid, I was already awake."
The child tilted his head in an almost cute gesture of confusion. "But why, though?"
"Same reason as you," 1x said impulsively. They regretted it the moment the words left their mouth.
C00lkidd looked at him with a mix of curiosity and genuine sympathy. "Did you have a bad dream about your dad, too?" 1x bristled, stuttering for a second before managing to speak.
"He isn't my—" Something made she stop mid-sentence, teeth gritting. Telamon never acted like a father to them. But, in the distant past, 1x remembered thinking of him as one. Hell, they remembered calling him that - for the first and last time. The god's piercing glare and the harsh retort they received in return were enough to change 1x's entire perspective. Telamon is your creator, do not treat him as anything less than that.
Even so, the answer slipped out again before 1x could hold it back. "...Something like that," she muttered, crossing her arms.

"Come here, sit... closer to me." From his tone, the Employee expected Harley to also pat the floor beside him, but instead, his metal legs moved, seemingly spreading slightly apart, just enough for the Employee to notice.
The Employee noticed, of course, and felt a heat rise in their face because of the suggestive movement and Harley's current position, along with the man's decidedly not innocent gaze.
The Employee cleared their throat, a little hesitant to ask. Are you going to… feel anything?
“Even though I had previously been curious to test possible theories in this regard, I have heard that having another person’s hands on your body certainly produces better results.” With that, Sawyer made direct eye contact with them. “How about we test that theory now?”

Summary
They never thought they would think this one day, but they were grateful for Sawyer's awful personality for lessening the guilt and bitterness that crept into their chests from time to time. It was easier to forget that they were on the path to killing the same man who had made them happy so many years ago when that man was constantly humiliating them and treating them like a lab rat, a "parasite," and a "germ".
Discovering that he had been turned into an experiment with a television head was a shock, but it explained a lot.
_________Somehow, none of this compares to the avalanche of emotions they felt when they discovered that their former lover, whom they had killed with their own hands, was apparently still alive, in a critically important backup. Obviously, the bastard would have a plan B.
Could it get any worse? Well, with Sawyer, it always could.
Because as soon as Giblet left, Harley opened his mouth.
And hasn't stopped talking since.
