As far as he was concerned, Potter could have whatever he wanted, now. What was the point of trying to tell him no if he was going to be sacrificed on the pyre of the greater good? If Potter wanted to learn, Severus would be his teacher. If he wanted a master, then Severus would make him submit. And if he wanted a lover... well. Severus would love him. And that was it. Anything else was a waste of time. And there was so little of that.

If Aziraphale were honest with himself, he didn’t feel that he deserved Crowley’s love. He felt worthy of God’s love to be sure, with all of its associated terms and conditions. But Crowley loved him unconditionally, beyond all measure and reason. One wrong move and he could fall out of God’s favor forever, but he felt reasonably certain that there was nothing he could do that would ever make Crowley fall out of love with him. Somehow, that was a much more terrifying prospect.
After the nightingale sings in Berkeley Square, Aziraphale and Crowley address the six thousand-year-old elephant in the room.
