“Nah, fuck Paris,” he says, nipping at the underside of Naim’s chin to make him laugh again, the kind of startled laugh that doesn’t know how to be self-conscious. Oh, Ryan thinks, he loves him.
He can’t say it out loud, not yet, notyetnotyetnotyet, so he chooses to be honest about the rest of it instead, says, “We’ll figure out Melbourne first. Yeah? Then—I dunno. We’ll go wherever you wanna go.”
“I wanna go where you wanna go,” Naim whispers, unbearably honest-sounding. Scratch that, thinks Ryan.
This is the happiest he’s ever been.

Summary
“Why're you looking at me like that?” Naim says, quiet, a bit insecure. His eyes flit away, closing when Ryan reaches a finger up to trace his lips.
Ryan shrugs, unable to do anything but tell the truth. He's in his bed with a beautiful, impossible boy, and he's going to tell him that he loves him. Like something out of his dreams. Ryan is sick of not taking what he wants, of letting it flit past him like a balloon in the wind, strings cut.
No. Ryan loves Naim, is in love with him, and he's going to fucking say it.
“I love you,” Ryan says, vulnerable, eyes wet. “I don't know how else to look at you.”

Summary
Ryan exhales, smoke slipping past his lips. “Did it ever touch you?”
Naim’s stomach churns. He curls towards Ryan, shifting onto his side, as Ryan’s gaze lands on him, piercing. He shakes his head.
“Good,” Ryan says, lifting the cigarette to his mouth.
Naim thinks of photobooth pictures, of hot blood trickling down Ryan’s neck, of flame and fear. He presses a soft kiss to Ryan’s side, over his ribs, over the soft cotton of his shirt, and inhales his scent.
