Summary
Daryl didn’t plan on getting drunk at Alexandria’s harvest festival. He definitely didn’t plan on puking in someone’s yard.
One rough night, one too many jars of whiskey, and Rick Grimes doing what he always does—showing up, steady and unshakable.
It’s not a big deal. Except… maybe it kind of is.

Summary
“It feels monumental, the day someone loses their mind. Like a birthday. She wonders idly if she ought to mark it on the wall.”
Or
The group find a prison, or more accurately, they find a maximum security juvenile detention centre. But for simplicity, they find a prison. And in the prison they find a criminal, just one criminal, trapped as the day she was put away. And in that criminal they find a person. And in that person they find a girl. And the story goes on from there.
Or
A story about sowing the seeds of regrowth, having them ripped out from the soil beneath your feet, and replanting them anyway with the knowledge they will never grow back the same again.
Or
A journey of fire and ash. Sun, stars and stardust.

Summary
Rick knew he would die when he blew the bridge. He knew it was over for him.
The thought of what was left of his family being safe — that was all that mattered now. The people he’d fought, bled, and sacrificed for. He takes in Daryl’s tearful eyes, hears Michonne’s agonized scream of his name echoing even over the groans of the horde.
He feels the bridge trembling beneath his boots, feels the weight of every step that led him here. He raises his Colt Python, the steel cool and familiar in his hand. The dynamite shudders along with the bridge, the herd closing in.
“I found ‘em,” he whispers, his voice breaking around the words.
Then he pulls the trigger.
The explosion roars like thunder. Fire erupts, swallowing everything — the bridge, the walkers, him. The last thing Rick sees is a wall of orange and gold rushing toward him, heat and light burning through his chest before the world goes black.

Summary
Daryl lives his life hiding a secret that affects him more now than ever in the face of a crumbling civilization. How will this change the way he experiences his relationships and deals with his problems after the end of the world as he knows it?
Written for a(n old!) prompt at TWD Kink meme: "All of Merle's taunting in the episode before last got me thinking. What if Daryl had actually been born as Darla?"
This story is canon compliant up to 4x15 and as such, may contain spoilers for any and all episodes, as well as the video game "Walking Dead: Survival Instinct".

Summary
For a while, he'd kept it hidden beneath forced smiles, continuing to introduce himself to everybody in the hopes that once he grew accustomed to those around him, the nausea would die down.
Except it didn't, and now he's kneeling down in front of Peter Benton's toilet, praying to a God he doesn't believe in that this isn't what he thinks it is.
He cannot be sick.
OR
Post S1 E9, 'ER Confidential'- Carter attends Thanksgiving at Benton's place. Things, predictably, do not go to plan.
