Tales of + Xenoblade 2 crossover fusion AU.
A love letter to the Symphonia cast, and then several other characters I'm fond of, bundled up into a narrative about trauma recovery.Or: a series deconstructing XC2's blade system by exploring the ways blade+driver relationships work... and don't. Featuring Tales of characters, mostly Symphonia, but also Jade Curtiss (and Asch, courtesy of my friend Nael). And, like, others, from various fandoms, in bit parts that are rapidly growing. Prioritizes Tales of and Xenoblade 2 characters, though.

Summary
Struggling through a strange, hostile town while attempting to locate the President’s missing daughter, Leon begins to doubt his ability to complete this mission. He's never been able to save the people he's cared about before. The people he's cared about have never bothered to stay before. He’s very aware attachments only exist to break his heart. So why then, does he find himself growing closer with the smooth-talking Luis Serra? It’s bound to end in disaster, especially when one of you are shackled and not really sticking around voluntarily.
Aka. What if Luis and Leon stuck together after the chain scene? How would such a simple, single event change things?

“I’m sorry,” Leon said with a wince, knowing it wasn’t enough.
“Oh, you’re sorry,” Luis echoed, proving Leon right. “Then I suppose all is forgiven!"

Leon returns home after the events of RE:Requiem, and Luis is justifiably angry that he hadn't heard anything of Leon's wellbeing in the time he was gone. Now Leon has to make it up to Luis.
