Maxine has been baby A for her entire life. She’s the oldest, so naturally she has to be the strongest and the most responsible. She can’t be sad, because that’s not her job. Being sad has always been baby B’s job. He was allowed to crumble and break because that what was expected from him. It’s always appeared to work for the twins, but how does that imbalance affect them, truly?

Marcus had never thought about suicide. At least no more than listening to the yearly assembly about warning signs and statistics. Even in his darkest days. He never once considered.
He saw no point in killing himself. No, he would much rather lie down and forget to exist. Sure, eventually he would die. But he was no danger to himself; in fact, he was nothing to himself.
