What Jaime would never understand is that Lyarra could ask a hundred questions and still find more to worry her. What would happen once the king left Winterfell? Would her father take her sisters south? Would she be asked to join them? What were the king’s intentions regarding herself? How was she to begin to think about fighting, and planning, and taking the Iron Throne, dragon by her side or not? With just the north, no other allies? How could she and Jaime stay together?
But here, with Jaime in the forest, tangled together; this was no mistake, no passing fancy. This was the kind of spark that had no time for petty questions. For queries on how and when and why.
This was two wholes becoming one. A lion and a wolf. (Or a dragon if you prefer.)
All the rest would bow to that truth, Lyarra was sure of it.

“What is going on?” She asked the question quietly, but somehow it still cut through all the noise of the room and left a stinging silence in its wake as Jaime stared down Ned Stark with fire in his eyes.
“Well, my lord?” He spoke at last. “Why don’t you tell her who her real father was?”

“Why do they call you the Kingslayer?”
Jaime was taken slightly aback at the innocence of the question. He did not know how to respond. As usual, he fell back on snark.
“I suppose it would have something to do with my having killed the last king.” He drawled, but if he had expected her to draw back or flinch he would have been disappointed by her open expression.
“Why did you kill the king?” She asked, simplicity itself.
It had finally happened. Someone had finally asked Jaime why he had done it. And it was a child of no more than 5.

Summary
Daemon Targaryen had not expected to wake beneath the towering face of the weirwood tree on the Isle of Gods. Especially not since the last thing he remembered was dying. Which, apperently, was over a hundred years ago. With his family long since burned to ash and what remained of his descendends lost in Essos, he had planned to take to the sky on Caraxes and punish the Seven Kingdoms for what they did to the blood of Old Valyria. Westeros could do with a reminder of a Dragon's rage and Daemon had nothing left to loose. All that remained was his wrath.
But then he found the girl. Her face a monument to Valyrian beauty, with eyes like the frozen North. A face that he knows has haunted his dreams.
