Summary
Amanda Grayson knew that marrying an alien diplomat would make her life difficult. She did it anyway. She knew that following him to his planet, far away from the little blue marble that was her home, would test her in ways she might not be able to anticipate, despite extensive preparation. She did it anyway. She even knew that having a child with her alien husband on his alien world would drastically complicate matters, despite the multiple reassurances that such a child was even possible. She (and Sarek) did it anyway.

Summary
I am, to put it mildly, a fan of Shakespeare. I love the language, I love the history, I love the variety of interpretations, I love the puns, and I love the queer subtext that shows up sometimes. And, because I like seeing the variety of interpretations, I enjoy watching different adaptations of popular titles to see what parts of the original they choose to keep and which parts they choose to change. It’s interesting, to me, to see how a new director takes the historic play and works it into a modern frame. It can shed new or different light on an interpretation of the original, sometimes in ways that are not wrong but are certainly a far cry from what the line or scene was ever meant to be.

Summary
Part of what I love about Maurice, the 1987 BBC film adaptation of EM Forster’s novel of the same name, is that it has multiple explicitly queer characters in a historic setting. I’m also a big fan of the happy ending and the fact that none of the queer characters die. But what I really love about Maurice is that it not only has multiple queer characters, it does a pretty decent job of showing within the narrative why the relationships function differently, and why ultimately one works and one doesn’t.

Summary
As queer viewers, we are used to our identities being treated as the Topic Of The Week. Queer characters designed to make straight people feel good about educating themselves flit across our screens and back into the ether, never to be seen or heard from again; we put up with it because these crumbs are all we get. Also because we know the reality is these are the baby steps that lay the foundations of change. But sometimes...rarely, very rarely, we see a show put the effort in. The queer character is more than just a throwaway, the writers did their research, and we get the representation that we don’t even know we’ve been missing. For me, an asexual viewer, that show was BoJack Horseman.

But there is nothing wrong with giving Chernysh all the pats and treats that he deserves, is there?
Nothing wrong with encouraging Chernysh to spend more and more time at Ilya's house until he doesn't even remember who Hollander is.
Because Hollander is stupid and boring and does not deserve a dog as good as Chernysh. No, he doesn't, does he? Because Chernysh is the best boy in the whole world, yes he is.

Honestly, Foggy’s just kind of grateful that the unconscious dude in the alley by his apartment isn’t beat up as bad as Matt was when he found him that first time.
He also kind of thinks it says a lot about his life right now that those are his feelings on the subject, but it’s best not to analyze that.
Where Foggy accidentally becomes bros with the Avengers, Foggy and Matt talk it out, and the Avengers and Matt don't seem to grasp the concept that the "s" in "friends" is there for a reason.
