“No, I think they said something about ‘feeling lost at sea when they stare into the eyes of Will Byers’”, Max continued to tease, El verbally pointing out once she sees a blush creep on Will’s face due to their incessant teasing.
“But Will’s eyes are brown, so wouldn’t they be lost in like a puddle of mud or something?” After having nothing to say all afternoon, Mike finally decided to contribute to the conversation. He was met with boos from everyone and Dustin threw a few fries at him. “What? I’m just saying that it logically doesn’t make sense,” he replied indignantly, brushing the salt from the fries off his shirt. Mike and Will’s eyes met and Mike had an expression that Will couldn’t quite read. It looked like annoyance, but there was something else there that Will just couldn’t put his fingers on.
“Mike’s just jealous that no one’s complimenting his eyes and that the girls aren’t lining up for him,” Lucas said, reaching across the table to nudge Mike’s arm jokingly, but Mike wasn’t having it and brushed him off.
