In retrospect, he should have seen this coming; the kitchen is rarely empty, even at night, and there are fewer people in HQ.
Rudo stands next to him, not reacting to his words in the slightest as he stares off into the distance. That should have been the first red sign, but Zanka doesn't feel like he's actually on earth, so he's not as observant as he normally is. With a dull confusion, Zanka can see the kid's hands shaking.
Or, Zanka gets high, goes to the kitchen for some cereal, and gets more than what he bargained for.
Can be read as a stand alone!

Summary
Enjin and Riyo are taking a walk through the Kamuatari district.
“Man, Riyo, look at this.” Enjin suddenly blurted. Pointing at the well in the middle of the street.
“A well?” Riyo inquired, her footsteps faltering as she came to a stop beside Enjin.
“What’s the point of a well if you can’t even gonna use it? Damn waste of space if ya ask me.” Enjin commented, hands on his hips as he dramatically looked down into the well.
Then he paused.
There was a kid down there.
A kid.
Barely a teenager if Enjin had to guess.
“...Riyo” Enjin muttered, inaudible if Riyo hadn’t been looking for it.
Riyo quirked an eyebrow at the sudden change in tone and decided to take a look for herself at whatever was inside the well. “What’s wrong?”
“Holy shit, Riyo. There’s a kid in the well.”
(Or Zanka stayed in that well for a week instead of three days)

Summary
Jabber makes Zanka feel wanted in the most backwards kind of way. Not in the way Enjin does: useful, supported, good lad, folded into a tight team that actually cares if he's breathing. Safe and stable and predicable.
Jabber's wanting is different. It's feral. The wanting that says: you're interesting 'cause you can hurt me real nice. And I'm interested 'cause you can take it.
It's not…good.
It's probably not healthy, either.
It doesn't matter. It wedges its way under Zanka's ribs into a private part of himself he swore he'd never touch.

Summary
Enjin locks eyes with the boy he’d been searching for over half a year. It’s Zanka. He looks tired , bags under his eyes, his hair longer than it used to be messy and uncut , and a raiders uniform .
His cleaners one gone. Not a signal trace of HQs logo. The mark that brought all of them together as a sign of unity and fellowship.
The color purple never looked so disgusting on Zanka.
(When Zodyl takes a sudden interest in Zanka , he decides the best idea is to kidnap and brainwash the the cleaner into becoming a raider.)

“Just take it,” Riyo mumbles. It’s soft. Zanka would even say it sounded sad, under the circumstance that Riyo actually gave a shit about him. “You don’t have to eat all of it. Just.. something. Please.”
