They regard each other, for a long moment. Behind her large glasses, Larissa’s eyes are unblinking, but her clasped hands betray her, the fiddling of her thumbs against each other. She wets her lips, pursed and full and pink.

His eyes lock onto Hob’s with intent so sharp it’s almost physical. His voice is calm, low, almost conversational, but his meaning lands like a touch on bare skin: “We should go to your flat instead.”
For a moment, Hob forgets how to breathe. There’s nothing casual about it, not with the ribbon still biting pale skin, not with the weight of Dream’s gaze pinning him down, not with the index finger digging into the plush red of his lip. The words carry heat, want, endless inevitability.

Summary
Dream has been following John Constantine for quite some time now—subtly, of course, in the form of a cat. He watches from a distance, until one rainy evening, he notices something heavier than the weather hanging over John. He feels compelled to find out what plagues the man.
John finally notices the strange cat that's been watching him. He thinks it's a bit creepy, but it's not the weirdest thing he's seen. When the cat decides to approach him, he sneaks it into his apartment to shelter it from the rain. He has a little chat with it. It's far more therapeutic than he expected.

Oh, but he was foolish to think that because Dream would always seek Death, not the other way around.
