Fern is a doe and third-year Interdisciplinary Studies major at a public university satellite campus with strong progressive views, a shitbox from 2008, three ex-girlfriends, a Tweeter account with two dozen followers, and a long-standing policy on human males. The policy is reasonable. Well-researched, even. And very simple: human males are the cause of all of the world's ills, and they need to know it. A segment on ANN further inflames this policy into becoming a long-winded rant on Tweeter, not without backlash.
Then she meets Dale at a show. He knows every word to the same psych rock B-side she does, and things get a little more complicated: he's a human male.
