“Careful now,” Astarion lilts teasingly, leaning against a nearby tree like he’s been posing there all morning. His eyes gleam in that way she hates—sharp, amused and entirely too pleased with himself. “Scowl too hard and the eggs might scramble themselves in fear.”
Of course. Gods forbid a day start without him finding some way to needle his way under her skin.
She gives him a look, just sharp enough to cut through the morning fog. “Keep talking, and you’ll be in the pan next.”
At that, he tsked, mock-offended. “Must we always flirt like this?”

So when you move down the hall from him, gregarious, outgoing -- you make it impossible for him to disappear. Maybe it's not so bad.
