He hummed deep in his chest as the smaller body shifted against him, stretching and re-settling with a sigh. He nosed into soft hair and breathed in, pulling them closer as a vaguely familiar scent curled around him.

Enjin recognized the set up from his teenage years flitting in and out of Alice's clinic, lending a hand when she didn't deem him in the way. Blood flowed steadily through the line to Zanka, where the crook his arm wore a matching needle.

“I ain't chickenin' out,” insists Zanka, scowling. He straightens his back, doing his best to look determined despite the intense anxiety that's clawing at the pit of his stomach.
A grin splits across Enjin's face. “Have it your way,” he says, still not making a move. “Show me what you can do, yeah?”

Summary
It hits him with sudden clarity — he’s just excited to get home. It hasn't even been a full two days and he yearns to get back to the smell of incense and arguing voices and getting tickled on his neck by tasseled earrings.
Enjin lets out a breath, and lights up a cigarette now that he’s actively not dying. He lets go of the smoke peacefully, before almost flipping the car off the road from how hard he jerks.
Enjin realizes he's whipped.

Summary
His observations passed over Enjin and Riyou frequently, but he scrutinized them far less than anyone else. They were the ones who believed in him, who gave him the courage to climb out of the dank well he planned to rot away in. Trust came naturally between the trio, and Zanka understood that Enjin had known Riyou for far longer than he had. It made sense if they seemed closer to each other than they were to him. Zanka was nothing but logical. He knew better than to be jealous of such foolish things.
And then he stumbled upon Enjin braiding Riyou’s hair.
Zanka, the new guy, didn't get special displays of affection yet. He understood that perfectly. And that was fine, obviously. He didn't need special displays of affections, like hair braiding and head pats and stupid, warm embraces.

Or, Zanka is new to the Cleaners and can't help but notice the way Enjin treats him differently than Riyou.

Summary
Finally, the tank is full again and they all board the jeep, which miraculously smells like of an acrid mixture of smoke and gasoline with only the slightest hint of sweat. Far from ideal but infinitely better than the smell of truth. Shameful, wet, gushy truth.
"Huh. The carpet feels squishy. Why's it all wet?" Riyo asks, stepping in.
Zanka intensely wishes for the earth to open up beneath him and swallow him whole.
"Hey, Enjin? How did you make Zanka better? What did you do to him?" Rudo asks Enjin.
The blonde cleaner turns around, keeping one hand on the wheel, and flashes one of his goofiest grins. "I wrung him out like a sponge," he says, teeth unsettlingly bared from ear to ear.Zanka gets hit by a stray jet from Delmon’s Thirst Quencher and soaks up a dangerous quantity of water. Luckily, Enjin is a good sport about it.
