“Can we call someone for you?” the man asked. “A friend, a spouse?”
Buck thought of Eddie. Hen. Chimney. Bobby. He thought of them all out to dinner together at this very moment while he bled in an alley. He thought of the silence, the coldness, the looks he’d been getting from them since getting back to work.
He wouldn't have hesitated for a second to call Eddie just a few months ago.
He swallowed hard, looking back up. “No. There’s no one to call. Thanks.”
“Are you sure? You’re bleeding,” the woman pointed at her own lip, as if Buck was unaware he was bleeding from his.
“Yeah. I’m sure.”
OR: Buck is on the outs with his team after dropping the lawsuit and coming back to work. A night out with a couple guys from B-shift changes everything.

Summary
What's more sad? The fact that Deran can't have a normal and loving relationship, or the fact that Adrian just accepts what he gets?
A (hopefully) multichapter fic looking at Adrian and Deran's relationship, including how they met and how their relationship started. Plenty of angst (as I apparently like it) and some fluff. A little bit.

Adrian chuckles softly whispering back. “Call me later.”
Deran smiles softly, probably not knowing his face is noticeable by his older brother, and kisses Adrian before leaving the Cody’s to themselves.
It is surprising to see considering Deran has always been closed off about his love life, especially anything involving PDA but seeing him looking relaxed and at home with this man helped ease some concerns inside of Pope that he has always had for his kid brother.
He turns back to see Deran looking at him, a little nervous with the display they showed him. Pope just shrugs and comments. “I like him.”
