Summary
"As Sherlock’s birthday approached, he had called Mycroft almost every day until he accepted the invitation, not taking any of Mycroft’s excuses. It had been Greg who had convinced him eventually. As he checked his hair in the mirror, he pushed away the thought that somehow this felt like more than just putting on a battle suit."

Summary
"As was always the case with knowledge, there were also things he wished to have remained ignorant about. With a bit of practice, he could easily detect the signs of attraction in Lestrade’s behaviour on seeing Mycroft at crime scenes. The way his gaze lingered on him for longer than average, how he laughed a bit louder than usual, or how his mood improved sustainably after exchanging a few words with him. It became blatantly obvious at the last Christmas party, when Lestrade – surely encouraged by several glasses of wine – pulled Mycroft into a conversation and didn’t leave him for the rest of the evening."
Or: Sherlock confronts a tired, freshly divorced Greg about why he won't get with his brother "for science"

Summary
AU. ArtConservator!Mycroft. Do you want to learn about my new special interest, art conservation? Great!
When an expensive painting - and key piece of evidence in a murder case - is damaged on its way to evidence, the cash-strapped metropolitan police force is faced with a lawsuit if they don't agree to have the painting repaired by a professional art conservator. Recent-divorcee-with-acute-rejection-sensitivity Greg Lestrade is given the task of chaperoning the painting and ensuring that the blood stain is not repaired away along with the tear. All he wants is a quiet week away from the office gossip and the quiet loathing of his soon-to-be ex-wife.
But for Mr Holmes, enigmatic and private conservator with legs for days, it's hatred at first sight. Can Greg peel away the layers and change his mind? Or will a past he's forgotten come back to bite him and prove Holmes right? ooOOOooo

Summary
Mycroft has built a careful system of predictions to control the beast he calls Greed, always roiling in his chest, driving him to gather power, knowledge and (unfortunately) calories. By predicting what he's most likely to gain however, he can direct his desire towards them and not waste time striving for impossibilities. The system's worked for a decade, and he hasn't wanted anything badly enough to break it - until, that is, he's presented with a photograph of Gregory Lestrade and Greed crashes through his carefully erected barriers. To protect Greg from the beast, Mycroft must turn him into the most unattainable man in the country... by saving the man's crumbling marriage.
Greg's satisfied with his lot. He works long hours, sure, but it's a worthwhile job. His wife's cheating on him, yeah, but honestly if he had a chance with Mr Perfect McRockHardAbs, he'd probably cheat too. And he likes the bed cold, anyway. He's never been the sort to step on other people's feet or push for something as silly as his own happiness. Besides, he's never wanted anything strongly enough to push - until, that is, he meets the infuriating Mycroft Holmes, who seems intent on doing nothing but brush him away.
