Summary
She’s been calling him Lestat now, instead of ‘papa’ or ‘pops’ or the more severe ‘father’ she used to break out when she was being dramatic. Like she can distance herself from him, like she didn’t use to follow Lestat around like a shadow, imitating his every move while Lestat pretended not to notice, making increasingly dramatic gestures until Claudia was spinning around, laughing so hard she was doubled over. That feels like forever ago now, an entire decade between that family and this one.

Summary
It was a major misconception that House was incapable of experiencing positive empathetic emotions. He certainly felt them. Frequently, in fact. But they just weren’t as comfortable for him as the almost routine misery and chaos that he felt most often. When he was feeling one of these positive emotions, he would occasionally feel the urge to do something kind, but it rarely worked out well for him. People weren’t receptive to a brief moment of kindness after being subjected to hours of his sarcastic put downs.
Somewhere along the way one person became an exception to this deeply ingrained habit.

Summary
Wilson’s been fine, minus the lingering glances and unwarranted advancements thrown his way from his new colleague. If he keeps ignoring it, surely it will go away, and surely House will have no reason to meddle in his business and make his life ten times harder…right?

Summary
What if House was right?
What if every kind gesture, every outstretched hand, all the help he’d ever given, what if it was just his twisted way of feeling accomplished? What if his persona was just his conscience’s way of reminding him of what he would never be? What was left of him, then, if even his good deeds plunged their roots into his selfishness?
What if Wilson had become an oncologist because, deep down, he was nothing more than a horrible, despicable person?
Or: Wilson loses a patient and experiences a full existential crisis while unknown bacteria are eating away at Foreman's brain.
Featuring: House actually being a good friend (and being embarassed about it) and Wilson handling his emotions as per usual (very badly).Bookmarked by Kimi_snickers
