Agatha Harkness had built her life on control, thirty, successful, living high above the city in a glass-and-marble apartment that gleamed with proof of her accomplishments. Yet despite her curated world, every date felt the same: predictable, uninspired, fleeting. When Agatha’s date arrived at the door of her apartment, she always looked toward her doorwoman for assessment. If there was anyone with sharper eyes for people, it was Rio Vidal, unflappable, observant, and disarmingly perceptive.
It wasn’t until she started paying attention to the woman holding the door that Agatha began to wonder whether she’d been looking in the wrong direction all along.

“It’s nice,” she nods, taking a second piece before she begins to suck the juice off of her fingers, inserting each one individually into her mouth and releasing them with an audible pop that nearly sends Rio into a coma. Thank God, it’s too dark for Agatha to see the blush on her cheeks, thank God she can’t hear the ferocity with which Rio’s heart is desperately trying to break out of her ribcage.

Summary
At twenty-and-one, she should be old enough to understand such things, old enough to look for things in boys she likes, but somehow, she has never bothered, never felt neither the need nor the draw to it. She doesn’t like their deep voices, the way they carry themselves, how they drink, and curse, and shout. It annoys her to an extend that she avoids speaking to any of the young men in hopes no one of them will ever want to marry her. But then none of them have lips as plump or fingers and slender as Rio’s.
OR: The young man that has moved into the cottage up by the forest turns out to be something entirely different.
