Summary
Thanatos has been reincarnated as a human and has thus far done a pretty shitty job at it. They've allowed the Cosmoflow Staff to the be stolen, can't get the echo situation under control, and now, have caught feelings for a potentially dangerous Lord. All their existence they've just been taught to keep their head down, serve those they care about, and not question the status quo. They have a feeling that things will only get more conflicting from there as they slowly uncover more and more about Eshelon Bahari.
Eshelon Bahari has lived an... eventful life to say the very least. He's the duchess' son, he's once been stranded on an island with nothing but coconuts to eat, and he has a very interesting mentor who has a very... unorthodox method of teaching him. Like a curse. But that's no worries because all he has to do is find the cure before the rest of the humans do. Easy right? Not with Thanatos. But when they meet, Eshelon finds they are different from how he imagined. Worse, following working alongside them and watching them almost get blown up, he's developed... feelings.
Neither of them intend to act on these feelings when one unforgettable night occurs that throws their entire world into a tailspin.

Summary
“I broke things off with Nai’o,” Kenyatta says, pretty much out-of-the-blue.
She’s sitting at the bar, a sweet-root smash in her hands, and Reth, who is just trying to get through the early evening and into his next shift, freezes in place.
“Whoa,” is all he can think to say.
Slinging drinks and making soup is easy. The therapist part of being an innkeep? Challenging.
Nai’o hates Reth. Reth didn’t have strong feelings about Nai’o, really. But after a steamy storeroom encounter, his opinion changes. For the worse.
Then, eventually, for the better.

Summary
When Reth spots a local human he had managed to never meet in the three years since the re-emergence, he does his best to meter his curiosity. It wasn't the easiest task, though, considering the man was nearly seven feet of bulk that had a smile that could outshine the Phoenix and a habit of catching his eye. Reth feels all of him being drawn to Theodorik, in a way that is scary and new, but he can't let himself stumble. He has secrets he doesn't dare utter in the daylight; the human, too, has made mistakes he would rather leave in the past.
Branded, scarred, and abandoned. Maybe those who get left behind are destined to find each other.
