Summary
Dan’s not the best at anything, if he’s honest with himself.
He’s been fired from every job he’s ever worked in, his marriage is quickly and steadily heading towards a divorce, and all his friendships are all but ash on the wind.
But then that meteorite crashes on the outskirts of the city, and he changes. As does Laurie. As do other people around the valley.
And, well…
He might not be the best coach the kids could have, or the support Frank and Vanessa really need, but the newly made Pickles place their trust in him regardless.
Dan won’t let that trust go to waste.

Summary
The Realm of Ninjago is made of legends and strings of fate.
The thing is, Val’s pretty sure she isn’t part of that fate.
Especially considering Ninjago is. Y’know. A children’s show.
But then she somehow finds herself thrown into this world, as impossible as it is, and with seemingly no way out.
Now stuck between a hard place and the show’s main plot, Val realizes that the cartoon wildly tuned down just how horrifying the place really was. What with the constant villain attacks and the prophecies that never stop coming, living in Ninjago is nothing short of a nightmare.
So Val’s making sure she wakes up on the other side of the screen.

Summary
On Shadyside, hunger rests behind every corner, and war hangs heavy on the horizon.
Ever since their Blood Garden stopped baring fruit, Nightwalkers have been forced to starve. As the nights passed and their trees remained sick, the way to survival became clear: they’d have to return to the Orchard.
And as a result, face the Daywalkers once more.
Nightwalker and Daywalkers are two sides of the same coin. Equally matched in magic and history, the races, though warring, are intrinsically connected to each other. Which meant that if the Nightwalkers’ trees stopped baring fruit, there was a high chance Daywalkers’ had gotten sick, too.
Faced with starvation, Daywalkers would seek out the old harvesting grounds of their ancestors, just as them.
But a meeting between the tribes will only end reigniting the flame of war, and this time, only one would walk out the battle alive.
Val leaves towards the Orchard knowing fully well she might be reduced to ashes.
She returns with the prospect of war buried six feet under, enough bloodfruit to last generations, and peace finally dawning over Mount Rayburn.
(She also falls in love, but that’s another part of the story.)

Summary
Simon has spent the last two years working for the COI to obtain a clean record after his participation in the destruction of Filament Station. When he's left on a drifter colony with a scrubbed identity and a tablet, Simon looks into ways to disappear from both the COI's gaze as well as Eden's, which leads him down what is perhaps the strangest avenue he's ever undertaken: a marriage visa.
Dr. Ryland Grace may or may not know that his friend Rocky has put a marriage profile up whatsoever. Simon is lonely and Rocky is persistent. This may or may not be the worst idea in the history of the universe.
(or Rocky uses a mail-order-bride broker to find Grace the Best Mate Ever and gets Simon)

Summary
About a week after that, All Might asked Izuku if he was aiming for the hero course at UA. The question was so sudden that Izuku nearly dropped a microwave on his toes.
The truth was, if All Might had asked him that a week ago, there would have only been one possible answer to that question. All Might had gone to UA, UA was the best, so Izuku was going to go there too, if he could. But things were a little different, now that he was going to receive All Might’s Quirk.
“No,” he said, decisively.
All Might looked caught off guard, which was a very rare expression on him. “No?” he echoed, like he couldn’t believe it.
A laugh bubbled out of Izuku’s throat. He honestly couldn’t believe it either. “No,” he repeated.

Or, All Might tells Izuku about All for One before he gives him One for All, and everything changes.

There's a long silence, only interrupted by the crackling static of interstellar transmission.
"You said the stars where you are are cured?"
"From the astrophage? Yeah. But-"
"Then we don't need to bring my stars back," Ava decides, her voice full of steely conviction. "We just need to bring my people to where the stars are."
