It all started on the noob layer, with Evbo fending for his life. The layer was poor, unhygienic, and riddled with disease. Second to sickness, starvation was the most common cause of death, and everyone feared it - some people even feared death so much they died from anxiousness. The citizens of the noob layer lived by their god and died by their god, you could never test fate on the layer; dying without making yourself useful put a mark on your soul and tainted your afterlife.

“Do not make me lie to you, Midoriya Izuku.”
“Right. Sorry. Bad start,” Midoriya squeaked. Shouta could almost see the kid on the other end of the line, probably vibrating with enough nervous energy to power a small city. “Seriously, this whole t-thing was—uh, everybody’s okay. Physically! Everyone is fine. Uh—well. The property damage is... mostly covered by insurance? Probably?”
Shouta closed his eyes and leaned his head against the headboard with a dull, rhythmic thud. “Property damage. At one in the morning. On your break.”
“Just a bit?”
“What happened?” Shouta drew out the words, each syllable dripping with a bone-deep exhaustion.
“I—” A long pause followed, then a whisper so thin it barely carried through the speaker. “I got into a fight.”
“Where?”
The silence on the other end was deafening.
“Midoriya Izuku,” Shouta warned, using the kid's full name again, his voice dropping into that low, dangerous territory that usually made students scramble for cover.
“A bar,” Midoriya finally whispered.

Sixty days.
Dream heard the number land and noted, with the distant observational part of his mind that kept functioning regardless of what the rest of him was doing, that sixty days was a specific and deliberate choice. Enough time to pretend deliberation had occurred. Not enough time for anything to be meaningfully changed by it.
"The Emperor's heir," Dream said, and his voice was precisely, carefully, absolutely level. "Which one?"
Schlatt said: "The Crown Prince. Technoblade."
Or: Dream, the Crown Prince of the Southern Kingdom is given to the Crown Prince of the Antarctic Empire, Technoblade, as the final clause of a lost war, and neither of them expected what came after.
