Summary
Four years ago, Shane Hollander suffered a career-ending injury after getting hit by Marlow on the ice. Despite Ilya’s best efforts to reach out, he never hears from Shane again. Nor does anyone as Shane Hollander disappears from the public eye. Complete radio silence.
That is, until Ilya receives a call from his agent, asking if he is willing to ‘say a couple of nice words on camera about Shane Hollander’. Why? Oh. Because he will be induced in the MHL Hall of Fame in three weeks. And said Canadian golden boy will likely be there.
Ilya is totally okay about this, of course.

“However, there is something you need to know before we let you in, Mr Rozanov.” The nurse stopped in front of Shane’s room, turning around to look Ilya in the eyes. Her face had set into a more serious expression.
Ilya paused, tilting his head to fix his gaze onto the nurse.
She grabbed a hold of the clipboard in her hands more firmly as she glanced to look at the door where her patient lied.
“Mr Hollander has been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia.” She says.
Ilya blinks at her. A faint ringing slowly starts to build itself around his ears.

Summary
Time loops are just a fact of life to Wyatt, insane as that sounds. He’ll happily settle in for a repeat day every couple of weeks. Chances are he’ll wake up tomorrow morning and go to regularly scheduled practice. A teammate probably pissed off their wife, which is an easily fixed problem.

Rozanov cocked his head. “You speak Russian? Or just the curse words?”
“Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.
“No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”
“Go fuck yourself.”

Despite an inauspicious start, when Russia’s Ilya Rozanov learns that Canada’s Shane Hollander is fluent in Russian at their first World Junior Championships tournament, it changes everything and sets them on a different course. Instead of being branded as rivals from the very beginning, Ilya and Shane start off as friends.
And, after all, a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, did it?
