Summary
The story of how Aldhelm fell in love with Aethelflaed, and how she fell in love with him. Not REALLY enemy to lovers, as they were never truly enemies, but that is the closest I can fit. It takes place starting at the end of Season 2 during the Battle of Beomfleot, and continues into the time in between Seasons 2 and 3, and concludes with a Season 3 rewrite. Aldhelm has a different backstory as well.

This was based on a “Get to know them Alphabet” ask game that was posted on Tumblr a while ago. I decided to change the format for posting on AO3, so I combined many of the sections into broader categories. I also moved the relationship-oriented ones to the Romantic Headcanon post. This is geared towards a Modern AU but some of the personality stuff can fit any AU.

Takes place just after King Ceolwulf's death in 2.03. The new Lord of Mercia and his advisor chat about what just happened, and some introspection from Aldhelm. Some insight of their history together.
This was originally going to be part of a much longer fic, but I scrapped it in favor of making it it's own standalone fic (since I did not really fancy rewriting all of Season 2)

But after receiving a letter from his old first footman, Uhtred, perhaps the holiday could actually be fruitful, and an agreement between himself and his greatest failure could be achieved, despite all dire circumstances.
