Summary
Ser Duncan's side is chosen by a man who will one day be King. It is Baelor's downfall and his resurrection. A soul bond forms during the melee at Ashford and tethers Baelor to the land of the living, to Duncan, and Maekar must decide whether to break or bend the knee.
Baelor forces the issue when he asks Maekar to foster his claim on Duncan in his stead as he recovers.

Summary
It had occurred to Dunk in those final moments that they would probably not recover his body, that he would be nought but ash by the time the fires were brought under control. But that thought had oddly comforted him in a way, that there would be no grand funeral for the Lord Commander who had failed.
Failed to save more from the fire, failed to stop Aegon in the first place. Who knows, maybe his failure had even begun back in the hedges, maybe something he had done or not done had made Aegon the man who had done..this.
He would do anything to go back and fix it, had been his last thought before the sensations shifted from heat to cold, from fire to waves, from pain to panic.
or, dunk perishes in fire at summerhall and washes up on the sands of dragonstone. dragons still roam the skies, rhaenyra targaryen still lives and dunk quickly discovers he's not the only one lost in this time.

Summary
John Shepard's life was not going as he mapped it out. He was supposed to be finishing his doctorates in zoology and tromping around planets discovering and categorizing new fauna. Instead of poking things with sticks, he had let Anderson talk him into two more years of service as his XO on a shiny new experimental frigate. Now he found himself commanding that frigate as a Spectre with a weird new crew of aliens and marines. Thankfully a certain handsome turian was around to help with his awkward flailing. That is, if the commander could work up the courage and ask the damn man out.

Summary
Despite how he knows it's a dream, Josh can't help but remember just how...vivid, it felt. As though it was a memory. Maybe it's a result of that procedure, and the general confusion he's had acclimating to the changes. But he's fairly sure that dreams shouldn't feel like that. Not that he has any intention of talking about the dream with anyone. Reapers, extinction, death. All of that sounds utterly unrealistic, complete fiction, ridiculous, the more he thinks about it. That turian in the dream felt almost achingly familiar. But he knows he's got a soul mark, not one of those 'dream about your soulmate' sort of deals. Besides, it's been way too many years. How could his mark still hold true?
