Summary
After the League of Villains incident, Katsuki is just trying to keep it together. Things are slipping through the cracks and he's on his hands and knees trying not to let any of his responsibilities out of his sight. Most of the time he can't bear to be touched, especially from behind or anywhere near the back of his neck. Which means his regularly scheduled haircuts are absolutely out of the question. It's fine, he's coping, he's dealing with it—his hair grows out long, longer than it's ever been, and that's fine too.
Until it isn't. But Todoroki being in the right place at the wrong time in the communal boys bathroom as Katsuki is shaving his entire head in a fit of late night mania might just be the solution—one that spans years—that neither of them were looking for.

Kacchan charges harder at him, slamming him down so hard the ground cracks. “Why? I was-I am an ass to you! I have done everything in my power to make you hate me!”
Izuku scowled, throwing Kacchan off him. “Why? Because I was beneath you? Because we wouldn't be heroes together? I don't understand! You were my hero and you threw it in my face!”
Kacchan charges again, tackling Izuku to the ground. “I wanted you to be my hero!... I needed you to be!"
Or the cannon rewrite where Bakugou is more angsty. His mothers abuse is more explicit and Izuku is desperate to save him from it all.

Summary
Having Bakugou’s attention is a lot like the first time he can remember Endeavor going on an extended mission. He'd been gone for a week. The memories have the blurry, hazy quality of these acquired as a child, but he can remember bits and pieces. It felt like— like a single day of sunlight after a lifetime of rain. Warm and ultimately fleeting. Something that cannot ever truly belong to him. Love without the sting.
