Summary
Though no one knows how or why, humans have been appearing in the Pokemon world more and more frequently for the past fifty years. It takes time for them to adapt to a brand new body with no memories (and there’s always a lot of confusion about the talking animals and sentient teapots floating around), but most find a happy new life in the Pokemon world.
However, as the natural order of the world begins to break down—evolution becoming impossible, mystery dungeons and natural disasters cropping up at an alarming rate, the gods themselves going dormant—some are starting to suspect the rising number of humans has something to do with the world's imbalance.
Every crisis needs a scapegoat.
Nia just wants to return to her old life and those she left behind, but to do so she'll have to team up with a bitter charmander who's carrying his own baggage from a painful past. At that, Jax gave her a long look as his mouth narrowed out into a little line. Then he sighed quietly. It wasn't the way he used to sigh, with dramatic posturing that begged the attention from anyone even remotely listening. It was small. Tired. Reflexive. Then he sat down with his knees to his chest, glaring into the dark water. The only light here, a single streetlamp, glowed weakly.
"Denial is an ugly color on you. Clashes with your stupid hat."
"Jax — "
"I'm gone," he snapped. His voice echoed in the abyss. "Don't you get it? No one comes back from Abstraction. You're not saving me, you're not helping me grow. All you're doing is keeping my body from rotting." Jax's hands worked their way up to his head, squeezing as he growled, "You're talking to a ghost."

It's not jealousy. Adrian is adamant about that. They are actually insisting that it’s not any emotion at all. Not even dislike. They are simply completely uninterested in anything that concerns “the human”.
Rocky believes them. Adrian has always been the level-headed one out of the two of them. They are too logical to be jealous. They acknowledge that Grace and Rocky have a special bond after everything they went through together and also understand that none of that will ever pose a threat to their relationship.
Neither are they heartless or ungrateful. They know that Grace is the only reason that Rocky is back at all, the only reason their star has stopped dying. Adrian has told Rocky again and again that they are grateful and happy and wish the alien no ill will. They even helped with the construction of the biodome.
And yet they have no desire to get to know Grace.
