Summary
With everything that has happened over the last year, Jaskier is more than happy to be left alone. With the mountain, being tortured and being brought to Kaer Morhen, he's more than ready to resign himself to hiding in his room for the foreseeable duration of his stay. With any luck, maybe he'll be allowed to stay hidden while the others continue to bond. He can only hope that Geralt won't send him away again.
Little does he realise how wrong he is. When his heat starts, certain truths are revealed.

Jaskier clapped his hands together. "Well, that settles it then! Come stay with me in Oxenfurt!"
Geralt turned to him, frowning. "I’d have a room to myself, right?"
"Of course!" Jaskier waggled his eyebrows. "I have a lovely little place with three rooms, plenty of space for brooding. And, I’d much rather you be warm and comfortable than, say, half-dead in the snow." He grinned. "Besides, I wouldn’t want a beta like yourself dealing with my rut."
Geralt exhaled sharply. A beta, huh? Good. The last thing he needed was more questions.
"I expect privacy," Geralt muttered.
"But of course!" Jaskier sang, already turning toward the road ahead.
Geralt groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. He didn’t have many options.
"Fine," he said finally. "Oxenfurt it is.”(TLDR: Geralt is an omega, and becomes addicted to Jaskier's scent.)

Jaskier goes into heat in at Kear Morhen, struck by the humiliation of being rejected by his alpha he elects to spend it by himself and it nearly kills him. When the witchers finally find him Geralt is nearly thrown into his rut and the two have to stick it out together after two years of their broken primals longing for each other. Some of the harsh truths of exactly how broken the little bard is come to light as he clings to the only thing he views as safe during this trying time.
