In the end, a part of Gojo truly had died that day — perhaps the most intrinsic part, important facets of his identity suddenly obliterated. A sorcerer’s life is shaped by awful, terrible things, rhythmed by horror and interspersed by sorrow, but the nature of this loss is new. It’s the mourning of the self, the one fatality Gojo was never prepared to grieve.
To witness his hurt is both a privilege and a curse.

The students invite Gojo and Nanami to a water gun match at the beach to diffuse the weeks-long tension between them. Nanami learns that Gojo's crush on him isn't a ruse after all.
