Summary
Shockwave's experiments have left both factions amnesiac, partially organic, and enslaved. Their new Quintesson overlords are forcing them to operate some kind of mine.
Jazz managed to escape early on, but is now marooned in the wilderness of an alien world, living off the land, with only a loose plan for tracking down a space port; Optimus has lost his memory; Prowl is battling down virus-ridden dysphoria.
But the Autobots are not alone.
And perhaps there is some kind of (in-)famous revolutionary lurking around who might have the right force of personality and sheer stubbornness to spark a slave revolt...

Starscream does what he must to get his work done.
Including: kidnapping Skyfire, convincing Skyfire to commit a minor act of betrayal, and getting caught by Autobots…to get closer to Skyfire.
Or, Starscream has a hard time focusing on his work recently and blames Skyfire meanwhile his trine questions their morals.
(Think of this as a trine redemption fic with a side of SkyStar and you'll be happy)

Summary
"Jazz's idea of early “retirement” from the Autobot army was not an idle thing. It was the start of another life, or rather, the return to one which he had trained for the better half of his life. Jazz’s mentor before him had traded across the stars, and he had learned from another Captain, who had learned from another… going back millions of stellar cycles to the Golden Era, when the Concerto Legato was built.
It was still the finest ship in their galaxy. It had been for forever, built and rebuilt and named over and over again to maintain its status— till none of the original parts remained."
***
In which Jazz wants to give up the war, but the war doesn't want to give Jazz up. Through a tangled series of political mishaps, the unwilling Autobot will be sent on a second campaign through the galaxy, not as a *retired* space trader and researcher, but under the misguided and childish tyranny of an unworthy Prime. Will he regain control of his ship... or discover something more important waiting for him on Earth?Bookmarked by LiteraryMagpie
