He knew that these things were in development, but staring a mindless, obedient, weapon in the face made Hunk realize how doomed the entire world was going to be. Hunk expected his skull to get crushed by the tyrant’s large hand, but before that could happen, he heard several pops and the sound of glass cracking. On the other side of the observation tank, surrounded by decaying vines, was the cop. He stood ramrod straight with a handgun in his hands. Hunk saw the way his chest heaved with panicked breathing, he could see cold fear in the boy’s blue eyes. Still, he seemed determined to save Hunk."

Soon, the two men begin spending more time together. The more they learn about each other, the more they realize that they've been looking for each other their entire lives.
