When Shen Yuan wakes up, disoriented and immobilized in a strange bed, he thinks his poor choice in meals has landed him in the hospital. Again. The food poisoning must have triggered some sort of relapse, too, since the doctors have gone all out and put him on the really good meds—he can barely see, and he can't move his limbs at all.
In a strange stroke of luck, though, his doctors seem familiar with PIDW. But why are they asking about Shen Qingqiu?
(In which Shen Yuan transmigrates into end-game Shen Qingqiu without realizing it, and Luo Binghe takes the opportunity to show his new, apparently-amnesiac "disciple" what it's like to have a cruel and powerful Shizun. It doesn't go quite like he expects.)

Summary
When Shen Qingqiu died again, a final time, Luo Binghe knew it was all his fault. How could it not be, the way things ended between them? It would be a reward to follow after him, so Luo Binghe must instead live within the consequences of his own actions.
He grasps for anything to distract himself from the aching hole in his very soul and that's when he meets Shang Yuan, a man just as hopelessly miserable as he is.

“Are you cold?” he asks, because Shang Qinghua is usually cold. Mobei-jun does his best to keep him well supplied with furs, and warm cups of tea, and other necessities, but he still sometimes catches him blowing on the tips of his fingers in between drafts of trade agreements.
“Ah, a little,” Shang Qinghua says, rubbing at his cheek with one hand, “but it’s all right, my king.”
Mobei-jun says nothing, only extends a hand to tap him on the head, once, carefully. He stabilizes Shang Qinghua’s temperature with the touch, and watches as his cheeks go flushed.
“There,” he says.
