How could it ever be- with how Ghost watched you ascend the mountain of unattainable expectations you’d placed on yourself? He’d watched the form of you through the veil of snow as you’d climbed higher than you ever thought you could, and even then had refused to let that be the zenith you strived for. How could he ever think it was ‘just this’ when he watched the same hurt that dwelled within you both not kill you slowly, but drive you to higher and higher peaks as a proof of life?
Two halves of the same coin, two faces of the same moon where Ghost could never see the sun except through you.
It’s fine. Tomorrow you’ll both go back to pretending like that time in the cottage never happened, that you’re both nothing more than what you were meant to be- weapons in a never ending war, held by each others’ hands. Tomorrow Ghost will pass you in the hallway and ignore the feeling of you staring after him. Tomorrow Ghost will try to stop himself from looking at you when he thinks you don’t know. Tomorrow you’ll both pretend that whatever exists between you doesn’t exist at all.
And tomorrow, Ghost will continue to hate himself.

He had no right to look so damn handsome in that forest green shirt and those grey slacks. He must have gotten that outfit from her mother. Bulma tugs at the shirt tucked into his pants angrily, like his still being dressed has personally offended her.
Vegeta breaks the kiss and pulls away from her, light pants coming from his open mouth.
"Are you sure we should be doing this here? Where people eat?" He asks, trying to remind her they are currently in the dining room where people would soon be eating after that idiots 'memorial service' or whatever she called it.
Bulma grabs the leather belt wrapped around him, and pulls him back between her legs.
"What's the matter? Are you afraid, Saiyan?"
