    He can picture it clearly in his mind like a vision from the future. Katniss receiving the postcard, eyes scanning the back and then scoffing as she rolls her eyes, scowling at Finnick's antics. He can practically hear the ‘idiot’ that flashes in her mind. God, the image of it is so vivid in his head that he aches with how much he misses her. Misses Haymitch and Peeta and just— everyone he's lost.

    No. That's not right. He hasn't lost them. They're just… still adapting to this new life. Finnick himself has struggled with it, with the ghosts that refuse to leave him alone.

    They just need time.

    Everyone does.

    In the meantime, he can still try to make it even the tiniest bit easier for some of his friends by sending silly, stupid postcards.

    Post everything, Finnick sends Katniss postcards. And then letters. Somehow, that's the beginning of everything.

Nor did he expect to gain a phone and being bothered by his cousins- both godly and not 24/7 not long after returning the device. He just wanted to finish skipping sophomore year and help his mom out with getting groceries, is that too much to ask?

    i.e this is one of many chatfics set after The Stolen Chariot but prior to The Last Olympian. Currently on Mark of Athena. Roughly speaking.

    When a far more Jaded, far-less-Mortal Percy wakes up in his nine-year-old body, he very firmly decides that Once Was Enough, Thank You! So, instead of deciding to re-do his childhood But Better, he decides that this whole Mortal Hero thing is just NOT for him. So, instead, he decides to do as his kind-of-sibling Nereus does, and become a Hermit. Hell, he even makes his Mortality burn away faster than it had in the Before, so he CAN'T become the Child of Prophesy this time!

    His plan is absolutely foolproof!
    (Now if only he considered everyone ELSE when he made this plan...)
