Katsuki gave his head a good shake as the smoke around him began to fade up into the air. Holy fucking shit. It felt like he got hit by a truck. Was he dying? His body hurt. Did he overuse his damn quirk? Both of his hands felt shattered, broken, overused.
Looking down at his fingers… he found scars that didn’t belong to him.
Katsuki whipped his head up, wincing. Jesus... He didn't know how many more things can hurt! With everything else going on, his eyes, head, and body ached... What he found in front of him was himself. Well, his body but the softness in the familiar red eyes and the mouth gaping in shock, told him everything.
The nerd and him switched fucking body.
There were a lot of issues here, so damn many he wanted—he had the urge to cry. But there was something that bothered him.

"It's—it's Aizawa," Hitoshi says and his voice is shaking in a way that makes Hizashi's stomach drop out.
Hizashi reminds himself that he is Shouta's emergency contact, so if anything had happened to him Hizashi would have been called first, not Hitoshi, so whatever it is it can't be too serious.
At least Hizashi can hope.
"What is going on with Shouta?" he asks, trying to aim for a calm that he no longer feels.
"He's—sitting on the roof of our dorms," Hitoshi shakily says. "Right at the edge."

"Yeah, I kinda am. Listen, I'm going to lay down for a while, okay, Shouta should be home soon, though."
"Okay," Hitoshi whispers, more withdrawn than this conversation really warrants, but Hizashi bites back a sigh.
It's a verified minefield with the kiddo—they never know what's going to set him off or upset him and clearly something about this situation is doing some not so happy things with Hitoshi, but Hizashi really can't think past the stuffed feeling in his head.

Summary
Hizashi knows that something is wrong the moment Shouta comes home. He doubts just anyone would notice, but he's been married to Shouta long enough to spot the little things and the way Shouta's eyes flit around the room is barely a little thing in Hizashi's opinion.
It speaks of an unsettled mind and that is never a good thing.
Still, he waits to bring it up until Shouta is changed out of his jumpsuit, until he's cozy and as comfortable as he's going to get in his current state on the couch, and it gives Hizashi a little bit more time to observe Shouta.
He sees his gaze flitting around, briefly touching on things in the room, his fingers tapping away against his thigh while he counts, and his gaze always, always strays back to Hizashi himself before it goes off again.
And the counting never stops.

"Did you just—sit there?" he asks and Hitoshi's stomach sinks because of course.
Of course there was something he was supposed to do, some kind of test they gave him and he clearly failed that one already.
His heart starts to beat heavily in his chest and his hands get clammy.
This is always the worst part—figuring out the rules in a new home, figuring out what he's supposed to do, what he's allowed to do, what his new fosters want from him.
Hitoshi has always been exceptionally bad at it.

Hitoshi can consider himself lucky still, because his space has an outlet, so he can at least charge his phone and use the flash-light, but more often than not, he doesn't.
More often than not he doesn't even remember being in his space, because as soon as Iwasaki pushes him in and the lock clicks into place Hitoshi goes into his space.
He isn't quite sure how to explain it, but as soon as he's shoved in, he goes drifty and his thoughts shatter into a million pieces and everything feels distant and floaty and as if he's looking at things from behind a very thick fog.

It's instinctual, comes to Hitoshi without a second thought and he knows it's stupid, knows that one of these days he'll have to train with his quirk, too, but—no.
He's not ready for it. He needs more time to come to terms with the fact that he has to do it, needs more time to accept that his classmates will see him using it and most of all, he needs to prepare for the fact that he'll use it on them, against them, and he's not there yet.
And he's especially not ready to use his quirk on Aizawa, unsupervised and without witnesses.

It would be so easy to simply call Aizawa instead of the pizza place but—then what?

He’d fallen very swiftly and very inadvisably in love, which he’d channeled into an aggressive pursuit of friendship and vowed never to speak of.
That doesn’t mean he can’t still be grateful, though. He doesn’t have time to dwell on it, not with Aoki probably already waiting, so he settles for throwing, “You’re the best, Shou, thanks!” over his shoulder on his way out the door.

Shota's vision is tilting every now and then and Shota can no longer tell if it’s because he overused his quirk or because of his exhaustion and at this point it doesn’t really matter anymore.
He shuffles along the street, everything quiet and dark for now because it is still the middle of the night, and he doesn’t think too hard about where he’s going. He wants to be warm and comfortable and safe without having to look over his shoulder every other second and he trusts his feet to get him to where he needs to be.
Shota is proven right when he ends up in front of a door–a very familiar door–and even though it’s most certainly not Shota’s own home he knows that this is exactly where he wants to be.
