" Of course, Kirara falls. It's film writing 101. The Gintama writers want to have a Kubrick moment too.
Gintoki's body, thankfully, responds before his brain has even processed it. Before she's out of sight, he is launching himself after her. He has no plan except jumping himself, only barely registering that Sougo has thrown him a chain as he plunges into empty air. Against all odds, he manages to grab her hand.
She squeezes back. Because of course she does. No one jumping off a building actually wants to die.
Shinpachi holds a brief, sign-based conversation with her from a nearby building. Kirara's suicidal tendencies fade from her like they were never there in the first place. Gintoki kicks through a window once everyone has had a sufficiently heartfelt arc, safely depositing Kirara inside and ignoring the way the shattered glass scratches his own skin. The paramedics rush in and they don't even look at him, because Kirara clearly needs immediate psychiatric intervention. She just fell off a roof. Gintoki just jumped after her. "

When the Correspondence Arc takes a turn for the serious, Gintoki is left scrambling.

Hijikata has a lot of great qualities that often lead to him being chosen for things. To turn to him and expect nothing less than the best is normal. He's hard working, intelligent, determined, and fueled by an undying rage that often gets him first class results. Workaholic that he is, he'll go above and beyond for his investigations, often putting his body on the line. For the Shinsengumi's newest case, he's asked to use his body in a way he's never expected.
The Yorozuya is far too eager to help him out.

Tobirama activates the hirashin when he's dying to try and get to Kagami but loses his grip while in between dimensions. He wakes up in the past before Konoha has been established and decides to change what he can. - incomplete (May 2025, chap 39)
The political period piece of the warring states period I didn’t know I needed; the Hatake clan lore that is now my canon. Tobirama takes his seals and medical expertise to strengthen the Senju - he doesn't push Hashirama to fight the Uchiha and instead creates a barrier around the compound; gets rid of the warmongers by poisoning himself which has Hashirama out for blood; saves the Uchiha from a plague; gets scholarly recognition in a politically minded way - all to validate Konoha. Really well written <3
Where we left off: Hatake moving into Konoha; Mito trying to get the bird cage seal banished

Deidara unwillingly signs up for Itachi's personal time-travel fix-it fic. - incomplete (Jan 2025, chap 13)
Deidara winds up in the past after helping Itachi. He still becomes a missing nin, ends up in Konoha, realizes Itachi is also from the future, gets conned into joining ROOT, blows up ROOT, becomes a genin of Konoha - Itachi is using his genjutsu on the Hokage and most of the Uchiha elders - and joins Itachi's family. Itachi has severe control issues and uses Deidara to get rid of Danzo, protect Sasuke and then gets miffed when Deidara leaves to live with his genin teammates. Current arc is an original chunin arc where Deidara is going to get tested.

As time passes and Naruto gets attached to his 'cool friend', Minato decides he's going to take him back to his own timeline. Sandaime and Danzo don't like that. Very politically active and frankly adorable with bits of yandere!Minato peeking through.

Orochimaru is the genin sensei for Sasuke, Naruto and Shikamaru. First half of the series focuses on genin training - chakra control, transformation, nature application, jutsu and physical conditioning. Excellent world building and chakra theory.
interesting world setting - uchiha massacre doesn't happen but there are secrets; sasuke lives as the forgotten/overshadowed second son; Orochimaru stayed in konoha and is the pseudo parent to kabuto, anko and tenzou (and then naruto).
