Bill and Paddy meet for the first time before they’re ready for each other. The spark is there but everything else is wrong. They meet a second time and then a third but it isn’t until years later when their paths cross in Paris that they are both in a place where a relationship between them might work—if they can let go of the hurts and tragedies of their pasts and embrace the possibilities of a future together.

As their friendship strengthens and deepens, as it teeters on the dangerous edge of something more, they help each other through difficult times and hard decisions and realisations about who they truly are, until, in the end, they find their way back where they belong.
