The problem isn’t that Amphoreus has weird dynamics. The problem is that Caelus and Dan Heng don’t know that, and everyone else is very confident they do.

Caelus turned his eyes on Luocha, the tall man who’d chased away all those scary strangers and made it stop hurting. Luocha, who sounded so gentle, so kind, with a stake of the star of Abundance driven right through his heart that only Caelus could see.

Dan Heng purred quietly in his chest, enjoying the sight of Caelus sitting so prettily in the corral of Dan Heng’s own body. Surrounded by his things, his legs, his hair, his tail.
“My treasure,” he murmured, leaning forward to give his darling pearl a kiss on the cheek.
