It wasn't a secret that the Fenton's had their weird little ghost portal project. It wasn't a secret that they somehow got the damn thing to work, either. It was kind of hard to miss, what with all the weird ghosts popping up and disrupting the peace. At Casper High, even more unmistakable was the effects of the ectoplasmic radiation on the youngest of the family.

Aizawa scanned the room, praying against his own logic, that none of the rest of his kids would move. His heart stuttered in his chest as Todoroki stepped back. He knew about that already, but Aizawa wished he hadn’t. He sighed when Yaoyorozu stepped back as well, poor girl, he could kill whoever would do something to her. Hell he could kill whoever would do something to any of his kids. His eyes trailed back to Shinsou, crumpling the paper in his hands when Kaminari stepped back as well. Which pulled his attention to Bakugou, who had one hand wrapped around himself protectively and was wiping away his tears with the other. Aizawa couldn't be certain, he hadn’t really seen the boy move while he was looking at the other side of the room, but all of the sudden they all felt so far away.

Summary

In the aftermath of a devastating explosion at FentonWorks, Tucker and Sam are left to pick up the pieces.
There's nothing that can be done for the skeletal remains of FentonWorks, nor for three elder Fenton's whose lives were taken in the explosion. But the pieces that Tucker has put together from what remains leaves one thing clear: Danny was shoved through the Portal an instant before the explosion.
Danny may not be dead. Or at least, not any deader than he already was.
