Grace has been on Erid for quite some time now, living life to the best of his ability from within the confines of the biodome Rocky and his team erected for him. Its been perfect, aside from the fact that Grace was on borrowed time and his body was beginning to protest every movement he made. So, with Grace's health beginning to degrade beyond repair and after he made the mistake of showing Rocky the movie, Avatar, Rocky starts a secret project that has the potential to change everything.

Underneath the white light of his torch, there is a… carving. Yes, it is, must be. Quickly enough to almost stumble and lose his balance again, Jon scrambles backwards until he can see more of the carving at once. That figure-- ample, exaggerated curves, swooping animal ears at the sides of the head, a long thin tail, a gentle, benevolent smile--
An incredulous, giddy laugh bubbles out of Jon without his say-so, echoing down the cave until it sounds like there are at least three more people laughing with him.
It’s the same figure that he’s only seen fragments of until now, carved into clay shards dug out of the dirt. It’s so remarkably well preserved…
“I’ve found you,” Jon says softly, feeling a broad smile pulling at his lips.

Jon, an underfunded archeologist desperate for a discovery of importance, finds a sleeping god in a cave instead and gets far more than he bargained for in the process.

Summary
A newly appointed hucow saint - and the first one in at least a century at that - Jon finds himself at the mercy of the strange god responsible for transforming him into a human-cow hybrid. Martin seems intent on lavishing the vessel of his future offspring with as much love and care as possible, to Jon's humiliation and dismay. For better or for worse it's getting harder and harder for Jon to deny the possibility that they might be meant for each other.
Soft hands slide up to cup Jon’s tender breasts and he knows his precious few minutes of lucid strategizing have come to an end. Martin murmurs a sleepy “hello” into Jon’s shoulder, not quite stifling a yawn. “M-Morning,” he replies stiffly.

Oscar studies him clearly from mussed hair to scuffed boot, focusing in on the strange half-second in which he felt his way along the pew in order to move closer. Time had not been kind to either of them, leaving its obvious marks in various places. Instead of pointing out new scars, the wrinkled state of his jacket, how the knot of his tie was not quite tight enough, he simply drinks him all in to the best of his impartial ability. It is not easy.
“You’re still thin,” he admonishes kindly. “That always worried me, you know?”
Carefully he lifts his remaining hand to Arthur’s face, palm cupping one side of his jawline as if feeling along the bone there. Automatically Arthur closes his eyes, sinking into the touch. Just as soon as he leans against the fleeting shiver of heat, it’s gone.
Arthur and John return to what they left behind, hoping for a fresh start.

Summary
Jon has never liked Martin, never understood him. He gets more sympathetic after Prentiss, but that's to be expected really.
Martin doesn't really like Jon. He's mean for absolutely no reason, has it out for Martin specifically, and has the power to fire him. He's grateful for a place to stay while he's being stalked by worms, of course he is, but that doesn't mean he gets Jon at all.
Then Martin gets shrunk and Jons the one to find him, and suddenly they're having to learn more about each other. Who could refuse to take care of someone so small, especially when you feels it's your fault they're like that? Who can help themself but to be happy at being cared for?
