Summary
You’d talked a big game about how he was going to have to take on the responsibility for the dog, but you knew damn well you weren’t going to be able to resist helping out. Especially once you saw that big, white, adorable floof for the first time. You were instantly in love, as he glared at you through the glass doors of Leon’s den.
You’d immediately started cooing at him in a soft, sweet voice that made his ears twitch uncertainly. Leon’s mouth had fallen open when the dog’s neck ruff had stopped bristling, although Hewie still watched them with slightly bared teeth and wary eyes. As you slowly lowered yourself to the ground to sit and continued talking but made no move to get any closer, the animal had gradually laid down on the floor to observe you. By this time, Kennedy was looking distinctly jealous at how often you’d referred to the dog as a good boy, considering how much effort he put in for praise, and the animal was getting it just for existing.
It was pretty hilarious.
