"I c-c-c—" Lestat tries to say. Then she squeezes her eyes shut in frustration, growling.
Lestat's stutter has always come and gone like the weather. Present in her early years, born from brothers who beat her just for occupying space with sound. She learned quickly that language was dangerous, that every sentence uttered could be turned against her. Her throat learned its own kind of vigilance—tightening, hesitating, refusing to cooperate—knowing that silence was the only form of safety which could not betray her.
In the days following Lestat's public coming out, her stutter returns with a vengeance. Louis hatches a plan to give her confidence and, with his camera in hand, shows her exactly how gorgeous she truly is.

“Louis, focus,” Armand’s sharp tone of voice dragged him back to the present. “You lost control.”
“I lost control,” Louis repeated.
“You bit him.”
“I bit him.”
“I saved him,” Armand said firmly, leaving no space for argument and Louis found himself nodding. If Armand said so, if he sounded so sure, then it had to be true, right? He was going to take care of Louis, he was going to take all the pain away if only Louis did as he was told. He promised.

The door slammed open, flying straight off of the hinges from the force of the blow and in stepped Lestat in his full, furious glory.

Summary
Louis was touched by that, he was usually angry, hungry for blood lately, and then Lestat came and left him all limp, as if he was allowed to cry, to feel. Like when they first met: sitting in the square, and Lestat would listen to him for hours. "You don't need to feel sorry for me" He stated, but damn, Lestat seemed to be looking into his soul now. And maybe he was.
_They watch a play and Louis reads people's bad thoughts about him. Lestat tries to overcome his own impotence and console him.
